Course Description:

The first class in the Auto 99 Program is 99A which consists of the fundamentals of basic electricity, building of circuits, battery testing including the VAT-40 as well as modern conductance type testers used in most dealerships.  From there, we move to starting systems which includes "no-start, no-crank" diagnosis, including Anti-Theft Systems and diagnosis.  Next is charging systems, which consists of system operation as well as diagnosis of alternators, circuits and voltage regulators.  During the first six weeks of class, students will have extensive training in Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) usage in which they will use throughout the entire school year. 

 

Preparation for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) examination in area A6.
