Auto 99E

Course Description:  Auto 99E begins after spring break with one clear objective:  The use of On-Board Diagnstics and the extensive use of scan tools with the focus on scan data interpretation and bi-directional testing.   The goal of this class is to take the student beyond using a scan tool to only extract diagnostic trouble codes.  There is extremely valuable diagnostic data found via a scan tool and 99E helps you learn how to use that data to diagnose emissions and driveability concerns.  There is additional focus on On Board Diagnostics Generation II (OBDII) including OBDII Readiness Monitors, Drive Cycles, Code enable criteria, Type A and B DTC's and Mode 6 operation.

Preparation for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) examination in areas A8 and L1.

Course includes the following certifications (pending test results):

  • Clean Air Car Course
  • 2001-2011 Smog Update
