TCS has begun using a new success-based pricing to move closer to the model used by global consulting firms. This could set the tone for the rest of the industry which still charges its clients on effort rather than outcome.

Collaboration Tools
Vyew
a browser-based conferencing and always-on collaboration platform that provides instant visual communication without the need for client downloads or installations. Vyew's multimedia workspace enables shared viewing of presentations, files, photos and one's desktop. Included are tools for whiteboarding, annotating, text chatting, and phone conferencing.

Note taking
stu.dicio.us - what a student-developed, student-focused learning/study tool looks like
Speaking of taking notes - stu.dicio.us is a new online tool that might help. It is still in beta so new features are being added. I tried it and it seems to work well.
There is an online and offline mode, so you can take notes even if you don't have an internet connection, then automatically update your online stash when you reconnect - that part is a little weird.
Several good ideas here and many more are proposed.

stu.dicio.us, while still in beta, is an incredibly simple student-focused tool that currently supports note taking and scheduling, with file storage and self grade-tracking coming soon.

* Facebook friends integration
* Advanced note search
* File -> Notes conversion drag and drop
* Note navigation and security improvements
And coming soon right after that (October 15th):
* Professional plan
* Privacy (create access lists for anything)
* RSS feeds
* Note commenting
