The California Community Colleges e-Conferencing project,
based at Palomar College, has recently signed an

colleges with voice conferencing, data conferencing and
meeting management for real-time communication. The
agreement will begin with the installation of HorizonLive's
Web conferencing solution throughout the 108 campuses.
HorizonLive's software enables live interaction, collaboration
and access to content over the Internet using minimal
bandwidth.
For more information, visit www.ccceconferencing.org
3. @ONE SUMMER INSTITUTE
Visit the Technology for Teaching website to get a preview
of the experience the faculty participants and facilitators
will have later this month at CSU Monterey Bay.
http://one.fhda.edu/services/si/index.html
The @ONE Summer Institute is a hands on experience in
which faculty will develop curriculum materials and
instructional resources aimed at using technology to benefit
students. The institute is full and we commend the faculty
who will be gaining new skills and insights that will help
them be more effective in the fall.

June 4, 2002 Distance Learning Faculty Information & Updates
Yes, you can have it both ways!
LISTSERV instructors@dadistance.deanza.fhda.edu
We took the liberty of adding all the Distance Learning Faculty to the Distance Learning "instructors" listserv. We understand that this means of communication is not for everyone. Please accept our apologies if this is an inconvenience for you - just let me know.
Web Page http://faculty.deanza.edu/distancelearning/
This web page will be updated with the text of the emails that go out to the instructors@dadistance.deanza.fhda.edu list. If you unscribe to the listserv, you can still access the information. This allows you the flexibility to check for updates as frequently as you like. No emails will be sent. No salesmen will call.
Please check back regularly, as we will be offering many important opportunities for Distance Learning faculty to benefit from resources at De Anza, FHDA District, and California Virtual Campus (CVC).
June 3, 2002
Distance Learning faculty are encouraged to post their syllabi at
http://faculty.deanza.edu/
Manila syllabi are a big help to students and faculty. Easily update-able, easy to find. Couldn't be better!
We understand that it is difficult to make time in your busy teaching schedule to "Manila-ize" your syllabus. We are here to help.
We can assist in the transformation from existing Distance Learning syllabus to Manila format. Just send me an email with the following information:
- Course name and number
- When you taught this course last
- When you are teaching it next
- Are you starting with the syllabus of some other instructor? If so, who?
- Are you expecting to make major revisions to your syllabus for the next time you teach this course?
Send your request to Valerie Taylor
taylorvalerie@fhda.edu
I'll follow-up with an email and/or a phone call.
Normally we can send the Manila version of your syllabus back to you as a text file in 3-5 working days. You "cut and paste" the contents of the text file into your Manila syllabus page. You are then free to adjust, rearrange, modify or augment your syllabus as you like.
If this sounds like something we can help with, please let me know by phone or email.
Thanks.
Valerie
