"Gems" are now "Files".
Long time Manila users are familiar with the use of "gems" - a method of uploading almost any file type. Manila has recently been updated and the term Gems has been replaced (wisely, we think!) by the term files. (Note that your Gems link in the Editors Only menu has been replaced by a Files link.) Everything works essentially the same as before; only the terminology has been changed.
Filenames for pictures
Be sure to remove spaces from the filenames of any pictures or files that you add to your site as gems. Example:
- myBigPicture.gif is a good filename.
- My Big Picture.gif is not a good file name.
Use story titles to create links
You can easily create a link to another story on your site by typing its name between quotation marks. For example, you can create a link to your Info page by typing "info" on any page at your site.
URLs automatically become links
Manila automatically formats URLs as clickable links when you type them into your pages. Examples:
