Linking to Existing Sites

The Faculty Web Site Directory includes links to all faculty sites, whether created in Manila or not. Faculty members who already have web sites may want to use their current web addresses in the Faculty Web Site Directory. There are two ways to make sure that this happens.

1. If you attend a training session, you will learn how to do a simple redirect to your current site.
2. If you received an email about this project it contained a password that you can use to log in to the http://faculty.deanza.edu/ web site and set this up yourself.

Here are the steps for setting up your own link.

1. Go to http://faculty.deanza.edu/prefs/ and login to the faculty site using your password and the email address at which your received the message. Click on the Login button.
2. On the next page go the the section labeled "Use an existing site for your faculty home page?" Enter the full "Existing Site URL" of your current site. Be sure to begin the address with "http://".
3. Select the Yes radio button next to "Use my existing web site".
4. Click the submit button.

That's it! A click on your name in the faculty web site directory at http://faculty.deanza.edu/ will send visitors to your current web site.
