Using HTML In Manila Sites

Behind the scenes, the appearance and layout of web pages is usually controlled by html tags. ("HTML" stands for HyperText Markup Language.) Understanding and using html coding can seem like a daunting task to beginning web site users. For them, one of the most appealing features of Manila is that no html coding is required to create a web site.

However, you can include virtually any html tags in your pages if you choose to. Many site editors will want to try a few simple html tags, and advanced users may find that direct coding gives them greater control over the appearance of their pages.

(Note: Some tags are initially disabled on your site. Read Enabling HTML Tags for more information.)

For advanced users, the Manila environment also supports features including javascript, cascading stylesheets, and Manila's own built-in Macros.
