The site owner's name appears in large type at the top of every page of De Anza faculty web sites and provides a hyperlink to the site home page.
The text in this link is created automatically when the site is first set up. Some people may find that the "official" name used here is different than the name they normally use. For example, Christine Smith may prefer to be known as Chris Smith.
Site owners can easily edit this text using the following procedure:
- Go to your home page and log in.
- Click on the Prefs link in the Editors Only menu at the top of the page to go to the Welcome page.
- Click on the Appearance link in the left sidebar to go to the Appearance page.
- Below the page title there is a section called Page Header. Find the box labeled Site Name: in this section.
- Edit the text in the Site Name: box. (In our example, Chris would change "Christine Smith" to "Chris Smith".)
- Scroll all the way to the bottom of this page and click the Submit button.
The new site name text will reflect this update.
Note that editing the site name does not change the URL of the site. Again using Christine Smith as an example, while the site name at the top of the page will now read "Chris Smith," the URL for Chris's site will still be http://faculty.deanza.fhda.edu/SmithChristine.
