Using the Manila calendar

Depending upon the theme you choose for your web site you may find a calendar on some of your pages. The calendar appears on discussion pages, and it may also appear on your home page if you use a weblog format. (See the Sample Sites for examples.)

The calendar provides a method for navigating to discussion messages or, in certain cases, stories that were posted to your site in the past. In other words, it is a way of getting to archived pages on your site.

For example, if the calendar shown above was found on your discussion page you could go directly to the discussion for any linked and underlined date by clicking on it. You could also move to the previous or next month by clicking on the small month name abbreviations that appear below the calendar.

The calendar is not a scheduling tool, and you cannot use it to create entries for future dates. The best way to create calendars of this type is to enter them directly into a story.
