Browser compatibility for visitors to your site
The pages that you create on your Manila-based faculty web site should be compatible with virtually any standard web browser, including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator, the AOL browser, and others.
Since De Anza College web sites may use features such as Cascading Style Sheets (or CSS) and Java Script you will find that recent versions of standards-based browsers produce the best results.
Browser compatibility for managing your site
Faculty members using a web browser to edit their sites should try to use the most current versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator. While it is possible to edit Manila sites using other browsers or even older versions of these browsers, fewer problems are likely to occur when current browsers are used.
Recommended web browsers for editing your own site include
- Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or higher
- Netscape Communicator version 4.7 or higher. Version 6.x is recommended for best style sheet compatibility.
The following web browsers are not recommended and you may encounter problems if you use them to manage your site:
- version 4.x or earlier of Internet Explorer
- Versions of Netscape Explorer or Communicator earlier than version 4.7
- the AOL web browser
