Comparative Politics syllabus spring 2012
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs): Knowledge,
skills/abilities, and attitudes you will be able to demonstrate/perform
as a result of successfully completing this class: (1) compare and contrast how political decisions are shaped by institutions and processes in various political systems (2) compare and assess the impact of political decisions on individuals and groups in various political systems (3) appraise how participation in the political process varies across political systems
What's Going On Now (week 7): On Tuesday, we'll turn to chapters 4, 5, and 6, and begin review for the midterm. On Thursday, we'll share out our responses to the midterm review questions, and wrap up the discussion of chapters 5 and 6.
The midterm is scheduled for Tuesday, 5/28. See the midterm review sheet below for details.
Reading assignment: read and review chapters 1-6 for the midterm.
Writing assignment: Draft responses to the possible essay questions for the midterm.
