SPCH 1 F2012 SPCH 1 Greensheet 2012
Hi students, Welcome to fall quarter!! The first week we will get you started with student introductions and the demonstration speech assignment. I'm looking forward to getting to know you. I want you to begin thinking about your demonstration speech assignment. Students generally are quite creative and have a lot of fun with this assignment. I've had demo speeches on how to put on a sari, combat marshal arts, hula and other cultural dances, how to make an espresso drink, skydiving, every sport imaginable, mud wrestling and one of the Lost Boys of Sudan gave a speech on how to catch a lion!! See if you can come up with a topic that tells us something about your hobbies or personal interests. We will work on the demonstration speeches during week one and two in class and students will begin demonstration speeches the third week of the quarter. You will find assignment specifics in the Demonstration Speech Assignment below. Print out the demonstration speech assignment and review questions and bring these to class with you. We will talk about review questions in week one because I want you to answer these as you read through the text. Be sure to purchase your texts and begin reading week 1 assignments listed in the greensheet. Have a great first week!
Some assignments must be downloaded from this web site and printed. Please download and print these materials at the beginning of each week they are listed. Contact me immediately if technical problems interfere with this.
