About Me

This 2012-13 school year, I am returning to teach after having my daughter, Olivia, in the summer of 2011. She is a year and a half now and has kept me on my toes since she started walking at only 9 months! I love being at home with her, but I am also excited to be back in the classroom.

        I graduated from
San Jose State University with my Masters in English in 2004, and have been teaching composition at De Anza ever since. I have also taught composition at San Jose State.

I am a former De Anza graduate and this school contributed, and continues to contribute greatly to my academic and professional success. I attended De Anza College from 1996 to 1998 and played basketball as a Lady Don under the expertise of the greatest coach I've ever had, Mike Gervasoni. Although he was killed by a drunk driver, his presence is distinct and permanent in the minds of those who knew him. The lessons he taught me and my teammates on and off the court had a great impact on my life, as did participating on an intercollegiate sports team for two years.

My experiences in the gym and in the classrooms at De Anza paved the way to my success at San Jose State. Your experiences and studies on this great campus will do the same for you.

I am proud and honored to be an instructor at De Anza College. Do not underestimate its valuable resources. In my studies, I have discovered that you get out of education what you put into it. Therefore, I encourage you to try your best and keep learning. Go Dons!
