If possible attach some kind of proof that you were there, went there like a parking receipt, admission receipt; and if the event was free and there were vendors grab some business cards to attach to your essay.
For each chapter assigned from the textbook for this class you my complete the online True/False, Multiple Choice or Key Term quizzes for extra credit. Each quiz is worth 5 extra credit points. The perfect scores (in other words don't email me your test scores until you earned 100% on the quiz) These extra credit options are due on the same day the reading is due in class. You may not turn in the quiz scores even 1 day late. The scores must be emailed to me at parkergerri@fhda.edu before class starts on the day the chapter reading assignment is due. Attending Events
Go to an event and observe for several hours. Write at least a 1 page typed essay to which you staple some kind of proof that you were at this event. Tell me what you observed/learned about the culture, art, etc. of the American ethnic group. Points are variable based on the quality of your essay.
San Jose Calendar: almost any ethnic/racial group activity or event or festival is okay. If you are not sure ask me!

-Remember that visits to ethnic or racial restaurants that provide not only a chance to try different foods but also provide a different experience may also be considered for extra credit. This does not mean you can get extra credit for eating at Taco Bell! Nor will dining at a place where the food of your race or ethnicity is served.
