The De Anza College Counseling
Division would like to help you explore your educational and career
possibilities. We can assist you in creating an educational plan that supports
you in this process. Please take advantage of the services listed below, which
have been designed to help you become clear about the major and/or career you
want to pursue.
Major and Career Resources
Counseling:
- Career Center:
Registered De Anza students can make an
appointment with a career counselor to discuss choosing a major or career.
Visit the Career Center
located next to the Counseling Center on the second floor of the SCS building or call (408) 864-5711 to make an
appointment.
- Counseling & Advising Center:
Anyone can come
into the Counseling & Advising Center to meet with a counselor to discuss
majors, careers, or anything at all. We want to help, so please just come see
us.
The Counseling & Advising
Center is located on the second floor of the SCS building. You can also call
the Center at (408) 864-5400 to make an appointment.
Classes:
- Career Life Planning
(self-assessment): CLP 70. This course explores individual values, interests,
skills, and personality types as they relate to career life choices. Check the
De Anza College schedule for more information and availability of
this class.
- Classes in any subject that
interests you. That's right. Taking a class in an area that interests you is a
great way to explore your options.

Exploration: Occupations Database with over 2,500 detailed job
descriptions Programs of Study Database with 141 Fields of Study available in
California (and U.S.)
- The Transfer Center. Visit the staff in the Transfer Center located next to the Counseling Center on the second floor of the SCS building
for workshops and resources about majors and transfer institutions. Drop in or
call for an appointment at (408) 864-8841.
- De Anza's Transfer Planning Web page. This will help you find information
about transferring to UC and CSU campuses.
