Summer
I'm not on campus on a regular schedule during summer, so email is the best way to contact me. I hope you enjoy the photos I post here during the summer break!

Week 3 Updates. A few highlights/reminders and so forth as we start week 3:
- As mentioned earlier, the first listening assignment is due tomorrow - at the start of class.
- I have begun to update the Concert List. More events will be added as the week goes on, and it is now a good time to plan attendance at your concert for the Concert Review assignment.
- I am behind on posting grades, largely due to the delay in getting a final version of my class rosters. I now have those and the process of converting them into a form that I can use for recording and posting grades begins. By the end of the week I hope to be able to post online grades for work submitted as of this week.

First 'Listening Assignment' Due on Wednesday. The first weekly listening assignment is due at the start of class this Wednesday. You need to go to the course calendar, find the week three section, click on the link to the assignment, and print it out. You must answer the questions on this printed form - no other forms are accepted.
Some important - critical, actually - points to keep in mind as you do the homework:
- The homework questions are based on text reading and you listening to the accompanying musical recordings.
- You must print the homework form and answer on it. I will not accept hand typed or hand printed versions on the homework.
- You must staple your pages together - and... a paper clip is not a staple... and a folded corner is not a staple... and tape is not a staple.

Ready for Next Week?. Some things to keep in mind...
- On Monday we'll take quiz 2 at the start of class. It is based on the week 2 study assignment..
- You may optionally choose to also do the "retake" version of quiz 1 at that time.
- The next discussion topic is due before the start of Monday's class.
- The first written listening assignment is due later next week.

Open Labs Reminder. Electronic Music open labs began last week and continue until final exams. Check the Open Labs page for the details. (The short story is that there are open labs on TTh at 2:10-3:30, and that you may also use a vacant workstation during any of my electronic music classes.) |

Electronic Music Open Lab. Open lab time is available for students in Intro to Electronic Music and Intermediate Electronic Music classes. The current official times are at 2:10-3:30 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. (We hope to be able to add additional hours later in the term.)
In addition, you may come to any other electronic music class and make use of computers that are not being used by the students in that class. Later in the term I may be able to accommodate a handful of students this way during each class. (Right now it may be a bit tight until we figure if other students will drop/add.)
Most students will need outside lab time to complete class projects. |
