(top) Week 5 Test was scheduled for Monday, but delayed by one day until Tuesday, A few other scheduled assignments, etc. were delayed by one day. Began coverage of Baroque music this week. (top) Week 6 This week we concluded coverage of the Baroque era by looking at several types of Baroque pieces, including the suite, concerto and concert grosso, fugue, cantata, and oratorio. In this context we also looked at the lives of certain composers, how they were employed in this era (related to patronage, etc) and so forth. On Thursday we moved on to begin coverage of the Classical era- doing basic intro to the era and then starting on multiple- and single-movement forms. Began sonata-allegro form.
