Week 3 Grades Update
I have just updated the online grades to include quiz 1 grades, quiz 2 scores, and grades for the first discussion assignment. See the Online Grades link in the sidebar on the right side of this page.

Regarding Concert Attendance for the Concert Review Assignment
I'll have a few things to say about the Concert Review assignment in class today, but here is a list of some things to consider:

Be sure to read the Concert Review assignment material before you attend, after you attend, before you write the paper, and probably again after you finish!
Arrive quite early for your concert. It is likely that you are going to a place you have not been to previously, and once you get there you'll need to find parking, walk to the venue, get a ticket, find your seat. If you are late you may not be seated.
Don't try to write the whole review as the music plays! Take a few notes on key observations but listen more than you write. (Be very discreet - loud paper shuffling and scribbling will annoy other listeners.)
It should go without saying, but TURN YOUR CELL PHONE COMPLETELY OFF.
Either immediately after the concert or as soon as you get home, spend a short time quickly turning your rough notes into sentences and paragraphs. If you wait until the deadline your notes will probably not make sense to you.
Don't wait until the last minute to select and attend an event - schedules change, concerts get canceled, etc. I don't give extensions if you wait too long and get caught.
Be sure to ask me questions about the event or about the paper if you are confused or need more information.

Need to Speak to Some Students...
A student in one of the Music 1A classes spoke to me earlier this week about a missing quiz score. I asked for an email reminder, which I did receive... but now I cannot find the email! I apologize for my confusion, but would you please speak to me again today?

There is an enrollment issue that I need to resolve for two students whose last name is Patterson. If your name is Patterson it is absolutely critical that you speak to me before leaving class today.
