A Grade Question
Some students wonder - for good reason! - what it means when an asterisk ("*") appears next to the letter grade on a paper. (Some misinterpret this as a "+" but it is actually just an asterisk.)
I add the asterisk as an indication that I wrote something in the body of your paper that I would like you to read. Sometimes, for example, a paper may earn an A grade even though I notice something is a bit "off" about an answer - the asterisk may point you to that item that caught my attention.
The asterisk is only for your use - it is not part of your grade in my records. [ Discuss] |
