A Clarification on Test #1
You have probably already figured this out even though I did not address it explicitly in class: Any questions on test #1 about the Non-western Music unit will be based entirely on the coverage of this topic in the TEXT. I did not cover it in class - I'll do that when we get to 20th century music later in the term since I think that is a better place to do so.

To summarize:

1. Non-western music is included on test #1 as indicated in the course calendar.

2. Any test 1 questions on this subject will be based entirely on the text. [ Discuss (1 response)]

A Note About Visiting My Office
I'm always encouraged when students come to my office to talk to me about class issues, both during my regular office hours and at other times. (I'm often in my office an hour or two before the start of my morning classes and frequently after my afternoon classes.) You are, of course, free to come by any time.

I have one favor to ask, however. When you drop by to see me right before class, try to do so primarily for questions that can be answered very quickly. I need a bit of time to get to my class and set up... and I don't want to be late! I appreciate your understanding - and please DO drop by... just a bit earlier!
