Monday, 9/29

Work time on the Garage Band assignment which is due on Wednesday at end of period. Very basic introduction to Logic - the Arrange and Transport windows. How to assign a plugin to an INST track. Very basic look at selecting a sound from one plugin.

Tuesday, 9/30

Work time on the ReDrum assignment that it due on Thursday. Some students appear to have finished, but more seem like they'll need at least a half hour to complete projects on Thursday. Then very basic intro to Subtractor module.

Wednesday, 10/1

Moved on into Logic, looking at basic plugin synths and then loops - essentially a quick tour of how to access all of them, but without details of each synthesis method. Learned how to change the inst assigned to the inst tracks and how to spread a part for one instrument across several tracks. Next assignment was barely introduced. Hear about half of the Garage Band assignments - the rest at the next class.

Thursday, 10/2

More basic editing on the Subtractor. Heard assignment 2 (yes, 2 - holding off the Logic assignment for later and having everyone do it.) In Subtractor we thoroughly covered the Oscillators and Noise Generator. We covered basic ADSR concepts using the amplifier, and we looked at filter frequency and resonance.

Friday, 10/3

Same as MW class.
