Week 6 Summary - Fall 2007

After about a half hour of extra work time I heard assignment #3 from perhaps half the class - the remainder need to be heard on Wednesday. There was some confusion about the deadline for quiz 2 - which I created by posting different due dates in the week 5 summary and on the quiz page. It is officially due on Wednesday, October 31 for the MW class. (Updated info for quizzes #1 and #2 was posted today on the home page.) We had a quick introduction to the Global Tracks feature of the arrange window. We also took a look at the "toggle" buttons: cycle, drop, and replace. Also briefly mentioned solo.

Covered second electronic music history topic. Heard remaining assignment #3 examples. Little time was available to work on #4 and no new new Logic topics were introduced.

Collected and reviewed Quiz 2. Announced that test #1 will be next Friday and that it will include the questions from the first two quizzes. Heard project 4. Introduced basic control of plugin synth setup and how to save the settings and reload them into another project. Mentioned the use of the "project" file and recommended that this method be used to save now. Next week, need to allow perhaps an hour of class time for completion of assignment 5. Next topic _may_ be incorporating audio samples from outside of Logic - but check assignment sequence first. Still need to carefully introduce/review cycle/drop/replace buttons.
