Week 5 Summary - Spring 2007

Finally heard all assignment #2 examples. Now working on assignment #3 with the hope that most everyone can finish by the end of class on Wednesay... given work time in class that day. Assigned take home quiz 1: due Wednesday. New Logic topics: splitting a plug in synth across several tracks, track automation, aliases.

Reviewed and collected the first take home quiz. Reviewed the copy/alias/loop requirement of the next project. Held off on the second electronic music lecture - will do it next Monday - and therefore also delayed the due date for quiz 2.

Work time on next project. Some review of Rewire issues. Introduce the Matrix sequencer and the concept of controllers. Few (if any) completed the Rewire project, so I announced that it would be due 30 minutes into our next class session.

Reviewed quiz 1. Heard assignment 2. Assignment 3 due at 11:00 a.m. next Friday. Reviewed the proverbial methods of repeating a region: loop, copy, alias. Covered post WWII electronic music of the 1950s. Heard poeme electronique. Quiz 2 due at statt of period next week.
