Intermediate Electronic Music Assignments: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 (| 6a) | 7 | Presentation | Final Project

NOTE: This assignment is always required for students who did not take Music 51: Intro to Electronic Music the previous quarter. During the 2008-09 fall term it is required for all students since we are using a new version of Logic that was not covered in the previous Intro class.

Description

Record a simple sequence in Logic that makes use of audio resources used in Introduction to Electronic Music.

Format

You must follow this format. Read it carefully!

Assignment Goals

Completing this assignment will demonstrate that you can use Logic to record and playback a simple sequence using all sound sources in the studio, and ensure that everyone can get the basic equipment in the studio operating in the Logic environment.

Grading

You will be graded on technical aspects of the assignment. The assignment will not be graded on its musical merits. However, imagination can't hurt! The assignment description is intentionally vague so that there is room for you to exercise your imagination. Try to come up with an interesting piece within the guidelines of this project.

Other important factors that will affect your project grade include:

Due Date

Due date: Flexible, but you must ask me to listen to it no later than the end of week 6. (Students who have taken Music 51 may choose to play their final project from that class for me instead.)

Good luck!
