Registering for Intermediate Electronic Music
Earlier this week I posted here and spoke in class about registration strategies that you should consider in a time of reduced college budgets. Along the same lines, if you are planning to take Music 8: Intermediate Electronic Music - and I hope you are! - you should enroll right away.

Ironically, there are two seemingly opposite reasons to do so:
  • During recent terms, the interest in and demand for seats in the electronic music classes has increased, and quite a few have filled before the start of the term. When they fill, the section closes and you cannot register - instead you have to come to the first meeting and hope that there is space. Register as soon as possible to ensure that you have a spot in the class.
  • On the other hand... it is possible that classes that have not reached the minimum threshold of 20 enrolled students by the middle of final exams week (a week and a half before the start of spring quarter!) could be canceled this year. Because there is sometimes a pattern of late enrollment in electronic music classes, it is possible that such late enrollment might endanger the class this time. Register as early as possible.
