Intermediate Electronic Music Assignments
Links to descriptions of Music 51 lab assignments are found below. The due dates and other important details of these assignments will be provided in class and during tutoring sessions. The assignments are subject to change and there may be additional assignments that are not listed here.
In general, these assignments will be evaluated on a technical basis only. The object of the assignments is to demonstrate your understanding of and ability to use the techniques that you have learned in class and during tutoring sessions. Since this class does not teach keyboard technique or composition your grade will not be based on these aspects of your projects.
(Dates may reflect the deadlines during the previous term until new deadlines are announced in class.)
Assignment Guidelines
- Intermediate Electronic Music Assignment 1
Due date: Flexible, but you must ask me to listen to it no later than the end of week 6. (Students who have taken Music 51 may choose to play their final project from that class for me instead.)
Alternate: As an experiment beginning during the spring 2011 term, I will give credit for this assignment based on demonstration of Logic application skills on the Rewire assignments later in the term. (Note: This assignment was originally
intended as a way for students whose experience with Logic is limited to
demonstrate sufficient skills to complete the "Rewire" assignment later
this term. I do not plan to require this assignment during the current
term, but students new to Logic are advised to spend time getting to
know the program on their own during the first 6 weeks of the term.
Credit for this assignment may be granted for demonstrating skills with
the Logic application based upon successful completion of the final
project.)
