General Announcements


1- Lecture Exam 1: Tuesday, 2/7  Study Guide: Exam 1
     Additional Materials:
  A.   Additional slide from Cells lecture: Roles of Proteins in the Plasma Membrane Slide

  B.   Sickle Cell & Malaria: This link includes a written explanation of the relationship between sickle cell anemia and malaria. It also has video clips from the movie segment we started in class Thurs.

2- Please bring your lab manual to lecture on Monday so we can review the assignments in preparation for the exam.

3- Lab Exam Next Week- Your first lab exam is WTh next week. It will include all materials we covered in lab from the very first lab through this week's labs. Next MT is a lab review. All materials (except live organisms) will be available for you to review. To get the most of this period, you should have already looked over your lab manual thoroughly so that you know which areas are especially in need of review, and so you have a list of questions for the TAs and me.

Tuesday: Lecture Exam 1  Please bring a scantron (50 questions/side) and a no. 2 pencil with an eraser that does not smear. Please be on time and remember to turn off your phone. No calculators or any electronics are allowed (including dictionaries/translators). Please do not wear anything that obscures my view of your eyes. Any visible writing anywhere other than on your exam will be considered cheating. Please refer to your greensheet for more specific details with regard to exam conduct. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

For the plant lifecycle assignment- allow a lot of time. Do a careful and thoughtful job on it. Make sure to draw everything and in the right place (do not draw arrows because you have something in the wrong place!).
