Bio

I was born in Valentine, Nebraska, quite a few decades ago! My parents had a cattle ranch a couple of miles outside town.

After graduating from Valentine High School, I attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where I received a BA in English.

Later, I received an MS in Computer Science from the University of Arizona.

And later still, I received an MA in History from San Jose State University.

Most of my career in the high-tech industry was spent at Sun Microsystems, where I worked as a software quality engineer on various tools for programmers.

From 2003-2006, I was a software quality engineer at Yahoo! in Sunnyvale, first for Yahoo! Alerts, and later for Yahoo! Groups.

From 2006-2007, I worked as the lead software quality engineer at a small search engine start-up.

And now, I'm attempting to re-invent myself as a "freeway instructor." My new course on Selenium IDE is part of that effort.

My personal interests include collecting Bette Davis memorabilia, reading murder mysteries and thrillers, dogs, swimming, train travel, and visiting historical sites throughout the United States.
