Texts: Intermediate Algebra, 4th Edition, by Blitzer

Attendance: Students are expected to attend all class sessions and be on time for class. Any student who is absent, late or leaves early more than 4 times may dropped from the class. However, it is the students' responsibility to drop by the appropriate deadline. This means that if a student exceeds the maximum number of absences after the last day to withdraw, then the student may receive a grade of F.

Homework: Problem sets will be assigned in class. These problems should be considered a minimum, and as well as working problems you should read the textbook. We will often discuss the homework in class. Homework will not be collected.

Quizzes: Throughout the term, you will be given quizzes to be completed either in or out of class. There will be no make-ups of missed work. No late work will be accepted.

Tests: Three tests worth 100 points each will be given. No make-ups will be allowed on tests. Each student may bring one piece of paper, no bigger than 8 ½ inches by 11 inches, with notes written on it. This paper is to be handed in with the test.

Final Examination: A cumulative final examination worth 100 points will be given. Any student who fails to take the final examination at the scheduled time will fail the course. If it helps the student, the final exam grade may also be used to replace the lowest test grade. Each student may bring two pieces of paper, each no bigger than 8 ½ inches by 11 inches, with notes written on it. These are to be handed in with the final.
