ESL 250 Advocacy ActivityFollow these instructions to complete your CD 12 advocacy activity:
1) Go to http://www.sccvote.org/
Click on "Look up your districts" under Quick Links on the right.
2) Type your home address into the required boxes and be sure to follow the instructions exactly
3) Next, you will need to click on three of the representatives. Choose:
XX Congressional
XX Assembly
XX Senatorial
The XX represents your district number, such as 15th Congressional or 22nd Assembly. Once you click on the representative, you will need to look through the list to find your representative for the number corresponding to your district.
4) Next, write down the name and address of the three different representatives for your area.
5) Now that you have the names for your 3 representatives, go to http://www.google.com and type in the name of each representative. Follow the links to different websites with information on your representatives. Look for your representative's biography and stand on "issues" related to children and families.
6) Find information you need and copy and paste that information into Microsoft Word. You can edit the content and make changes to it later.
7) Once you have information about each of your representatives, review the information that you have and organize it into short simple paragraphs with the most important information about each representative. All the information should fit on one typed page. You should include their name, phone number, address, district number, short biography, and their positions on issues related to children and families.
