Important Course And Textbook Purchasing Information
1. NEW TEXTBOOK
Nutrition 10 at De Anza has been revised.
The online classes will be using the binder text:
Books a la Carte Plus for Nutrition An Applied Approach with MyNutritionLab and MyDietAnalysis, Thompson, Janice, Second Edition. ISBN 978-0-321-64218-9. (required). Note: Access code for MyNutritionLab with MyDietAnalysis is required to access course site and comes bundled with the binder text.
2. TEXTBOOK PURCHASE OPTIONS
The required course resources can be purchased in the following ways. There is no significantly less expensive way or place to purchase the course materials. Please read the following carefully and choose your option taking into account shipping time if you choose to purchase online from the publisher. You must have the access code to register and enroll in the class site. No allowance is made for not having the required course materials at the beginning of the term.
• OPTION 1 - BEST WAY: Purchase at the De Anza Bookstore. Be certain to purchase the course materials for my section (LIECHTY, B). The binder text is bundled with the access code for MyNutritionLab with MyDietAnalysis. The bundled text is also available at Premier Textbooks across the street from De Anza in the Oaks Shopping Center <http://books.fhda.edu/>.
• OPTION 2 – ALLOW FOR SHIPPING TIME: Purchase from the Publisher’s website. At this site choose Books a la Carte Plus for Nutrition: An Applied Approach with MyNutrutionLab and MyDiet Analysis. <http://www.mypearsonstore.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=0321512189>.
• OPTION 3 – ALLOW FOR SHIPPING TIME: If you do not mind providing some buyer information and becoming a ‘member’, you can get a slight discount and free ground shipping at the following Publisher’s website: <http://www.mypearsonstore.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=032164218X&xid=PSED>
PURCHASING NOTES:
• Follow the instructions and pay attention because in addition to purchasing the binder text, you will be buying a specific access code that allows access to MyNutritionLab with MyDietAnalysis.
• The access code to access MyNutritionLab with MyDietAnalysis can be used by only one student and cannot be shared. To show up on the course site and get credit for the course, you must have your own, individual access code.
• The Book Store will not buy-back binder texts and currently there are no used binder texts.
3. ACCESS TO THE ONLINE COURSE
• The online section of Nutrition 10 will be using CourseCompass not catalyst.
• The first day of class you will be sent the site URL, logon instructions, and a specific course ID. You will use this course ID along with the access code you purchased with the text to logon to our class.
• You will have access to the class on the first day of class, Monday, June 27.
