CPA Wants YouCPA Profession Wants You!
What is a CPA?
A CPA is a certified public accountant and is licensed by the state. In California, to earn the prestige associated with the CPA license, individuals are required to demonstrate their knowledge and competence by passing an exam, meeting high educational standards (for the detail info re: educational requirements, go to the State Board web site link at below) and completing a specific amount of general accounting experience.
The Basics
The two most important goals to focus on in your quest to become a CPA are passing the CPA exam and meeting licensing requirements.
Recent changes to California law give CPA candidates more options than before for entering the profession.
These changes also increase the likelihood that your California CPA license will be transferable to a majority of other states, offering you more professional mobility.
The California Board of Accountancy recently has outlined Two Pathways for Earning a CPA license: Pathway 1 and Pathway 2.
