Blended Courses

Blended courses combine the traditional (face-to-face) classroom mode of instruction with some online instruction. Actual class meeting times are reduced, and online work is integrated into the course. Online, graded assignments are used regularly, not occasionally or only for extra credit work. Some advantages and disadvantages of this form of instruction can be found using the links below:

If you decide to develop a blended course,
  • Discuss your concept with your department
  • Take appropriate training to help prepare your course
  • Obtain the approval of the head of your department and request that a statement be added to the schedule of classes that your course requires computer access.
  • Complete a blended course proposal (link below) and submit it to your dean for approval.
