HOW CAN I OBTAIN A WEBCT ACCOUNT?

When you take a WebCT course from CVC1, you will create your own WebCT site. To offer a course, it is imperative that you follow the established timeline:

I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO A "SMART CLASSROOM" DOES THE CAMPUS HAVE SOME EQUIPMENT THAT I CAN USE TO BRING THE INTERNET OR MULTIMEDIA INTO A TRADITIONAL CLASSROOM?

Yes. Audio Visual/Technical Services, located in LCW 121 on the main floor of Learning Center West, can provide you with a wide variety of equipment. See:

HOW DO I GET SOFTWARE FOR MY OFFICE COMPUTER?

The first point of contact for technical needs, including hardware and software problems, is the ETS Call Center (408-864-TECH). Refer to the Technical Services site, Workstation Support section:

IS INTERNET ACCESS AVAILABLE IN EACH CLASSROOM?

Yes, each classroom does have Internet access, but you need to take a 14' ethernet cable to attach to the Active Network Port (marked with a blue dot) in the front of the room. You might be able to borrow one from AV, but there is no guarantee that they will have a spare when you need one. You should purchase an "RJ45 network patch cable" or "CAT 5 network patch cable" from Fry's or a computer store.

Do not leave the network cable attached to the port because that invites unauthorized users to connect a laptop to the port.
