Training FAQsI WANT TO INCORPORATE ONLINE INSTRUCTION INTO MY CLASSES. SHOULD I START WITH A LISTSERV, MANILA, WEBCT, OR ETUDES?
You really need to look at what you want to do online before this question can be answered. Check out the description of each of the programs in the TOOLS section of this site; they should help you make your decision. Valerie Taylor has compiled an excellent chart comparing the features of several of the programs you cite. See:

I WAS NEVER ABLE TO TAKE THE MANILA COURSES. CAN I LEARN ON MY OWN?
Although the classes were the best a way of establishing your faculty website and have it listed on the College's Faculty Websites page, there is an excellent Faculty Support site for Manila (link below) which contains tutorials, a discussion board, sample sites, and more...including directions for joining the Manila Users Group. With the demise of Learning Technologies, this will be your best source of assistance.

HOW DO I GET CREDIT FOR TAKING COURSES?
Courses can easily be verified by attaching a transcript showing satisfactory completion of the course together with the units (whether semester or quart).
If you are an instructor, see the PAA section of the FA contract agreement, especially Section 38.44 for specific instructions. Classified staff should follow the PGA section of their contract, especially the Requirements section.
HOW DO I GET CREDIT FOR ATTENDING WORKSHOPS AND BROWN BAGS?
Document your participation in conferences, workshops, roundtables, etc., by keeping copies of course materials that specify the title of the activity, dates, and hours of attendance. A signature verifying attendance would be helpful
If you are an instructor, see the PAA section of the FA contract agreement, especially Section 38.44 for specific instructions. Classified staff should follow the PGA section of their contract, especially the Requirements section.
