We don’t seem to learn from history Science does not protect us from the laws of history Power, not freedom, is a universal value The Middle East is the graveyard of empires The United States shares the destinies of the other great super powers of the past Religion, spirituality, and the lust for power are motivators in history Nations rise and fall due to individual leaders decisions A statesman is more than a mere politician, budied by a vision, a moral compass, and the ability to create consensus to achieve the vision The United States has charted a unique role in history
