shivelytim@f... - In Retrospect   6/21/2005; 11:38:20 AM (reads: 2184, responses: 0) I'm typing this after just hearing about John's passing, and kicking myself somewhere considerably more painful than in the ass but nebulous enough to get on with it....it was literally last night that I told my wife I wanted to take our newborn to see John--you know, the old saw about how seeing the young is somehow revitalizing for their elders. John had recently regaled me with his own stories of emergency delivery room experiences, and was kind enough to come to my wife's baby shower (and yes, I'm already reading his presents to the kid). I guess technically speaking it's too late for goodbyes now, but John, I'll miss the conversations, the commisseration, the inspiration--if there's a there, there, drop us a line sometime. WIth regrets, Tim Discuss
