How to Write a Summary

Summary Examples for Like Water for Chocolate

For the Vocabulary Journal, hand write 15 words that you would like to learn better. I suggest using the words from Lecture Ready 3. Write down the word, the part of speech, and its definition. Then find as many other forms of the word or related words that you can find. Last, copy a sentence using that word. Do not try to create your own sentence.

 In the Response Journal, choose a passage that means something to you or reminds you of something that you would like to discuss. Copy that passage or at least enough of it that I know what the main idea is, and respond to it by giving your thoughts on the topic. Responses may include your feelings or thoughts about the subject, a memory of something similar that happened to you, or further information on a topic.
