Reading Strategies and Worksheets

Experienced readers and writers use a variety of composing strategies to discover and create meaning. Experiment; see what works for you. Here are a couple of worksheets that might help you along the way.

While these approaches are often used for reading, they are also very helpful for writing. Thinking about your readers, considering how you can help them predict, asking yourself what they'll need to know, what they'll want to know, will help you write more effective essays.
