The invisibility of privilege and how our behavior manifest accordingly is of vital interest to social psychologists. Why? Explain how this phenomenon has worked in your life. Define what privilege is and how it can be seen (and unseen) in our world, ad more specifically your life. Stick to privilege. I have discovered that most people prefer to explore how they have been oppressed. Please don't. This is a good way to explore issues of the intertwining of race, class, gender, group affiliation and behaviors to specifically discuss how much privilege we take for granted, and may be invisible to.
How are you privileged everyday? When I first figured out I was privileged it was because I am a white woman and generally, this used to be invisible to me. In other words I had no idea the kinds of rights and privileges that I had simply by my color and what my gender brings to the table as a form of privilege. Sometimes this is also a way to discover what you do have and do not have by way of social attribution. What about you? Write about how you are privileged by some ascribed status (e.g., gender, race, class, heterosexuality, age, physical ability, religion). Explain how you use or abuse your social worth in this way.
