Class format:
This class explores the social behavior of the human in society. It is taught from a social science standpoint and uses the socratic method in the examination of theory where appropriate. We examine social systems which impact the individual as well as how the person influences society.
Below are the links to the outline and other resources to aid you in the sucess of this course.. You are responsible for the information located here. I will go over the first day of class, but after that you are on your own and held responsible for understanding the course guidelines.

Guest Speakers
Dr. William (Bill) Froming is not only the Academic Vice President of PGSP, but he is also an expert on terrorism and genocide, specifically the genocide in Rwanda in which 1 million people were killed within the span of three months. He is interested the common features shared by genocides of the 20th century. He has studied the Holocaust and the Rwandan genocide, interviewed survivors, and taught and written on the topic. In addition, he focuses on social development and the process by which social norms are internalized by children. This is thought of as the development of self-regulation.
Grading
Because this is such a small class we have the luxury of creating a round table discussion. Each student will be assigned one topic to lead a discussion on through the course of the term, and that student will be responsible for finding research to provide the other students (25% of grade) as well leading the discussion in which they are the "expert (25% of grade). Questions are to be provided to the instructor three weeks before the discussion via email and feedback will be provided also via email. Finally the research process leading to the presentation is 25% of grade
