Developmental BarbieBarbie, as an icon, has had many incarnations and occupations, and stages of development. She has been a mother, a wife and a sister. Her packaging has included Lifeguard Barbie, Veterinarian Barbie and even Astronaut Barbie. She changes identities as quickly as she can mass produce them. So, your assignment is to create yet another new identity for Barbie, yours.
Choose a stage of development that resonates with who you are a particular stage of life. It can be the current stage you are in, a stage previously gone through, or an upcoming stage you look forward to. Create a three dimensional version of you as Barbie (or Ken) in your chosen stage of development. Make the doll (action figure) look like you or represent you. Dress it, color it and create a background for your "self". Name it for marketing purposes.
Once this has been done a corresponding paper (3-7 pages) describing what stage of development “you” (the doll) is in should be written. Describe the doll in theoretic terms. Explain why you chose this stage of development. Why is it important to you. Use at least five theorists to explain your stage as it pertains to human development. It is okay to use the first person in this paper to describe the stage of development you chose. (Be sure to properly reference using APA format).
