This class explores the social behavior of the human in society. It is taught from a social science standpoint and uses the socratic method in the examination of theory where appropriate. We examine social systems which impact the individual as well as how the person influences society.

Below are the links to the outline and the syllabus. You are responsible for the information in the syllabus. I will go over the first day of class, but after that you are on your own and held responsible for understanding the course guidelines.

You will note that some of the dates on the outline are linked to the actual outline I will be using in lecture. Please feel free to print these out and use them as study guides if you would like to.

Please note I will be using the new plus minus grading system.

A note of caution: Your English language skills, both written and spoken, should be at a level of proficiency that is consistent with a transferable college level course. Make no mistake about this. You are expected to perform at the level of a sophomore in any four year university in the United States. This course is transferable and it will be difficult to pass if your language is not at this level. The baseline will not be changed in this regard, no matter the reason.

Exams

I have noted that there is not always a clear definition of terms or of theory within the Aronson book. To serve that purpose, here is a website that will aid in the comprehension of some definitions.

The "Summer 10 Social Psychology Final will be held on the 5th of August at 10 am. Please bring to class a SASE and a blank scantron (form 2052) All finals must be handed to me personally. MAKE SURE TO BRING A SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE or I will not take your final. No exceptions. This envelope should be 9x12 and have two to three stamps on it.

For all exams: You must hand me your scantron personally. No outside or intermediary personas are to be allowed to hand in your work. All work must be your own, and there is to be no discussion or exchange of information. If you have questions please email me.

Note: When turning in the final, a self addressed stamped envelope must be presented in conjunction with your final examination. This is mandatory and I will not take your final without one. The envelope should large enough to hold both your extra credit and your final. A 9x12 should be fine. (two to thee stamps is usually fine).
