You might find these specific notations on your paper. Below is a list of them and what they mean. Try to learn from them as this is part of the educational process.

w/c = word choice. In short: Do you really mean this?

b.g. = bad grammar. Use grammar check

sp = spelling. Are you kidding? You didn't spell check your paper?

a simple circle = something is wrong with the area. I didn't have time to spell it out.

a check mark = I read it and understood.

a question mark - hunh??? what does this mean?

arg = an ongoing problem. Fix it for the next paper.

ok = I take your point.

v.g. - very good.

awkward = your language is not smooth and could have been better thought out.

l.c. - use lower case when referring to this idea or word

u.c. = use upper case in all references to this word.
