Grand Tetons restaurantsRestaurants in Grand Teton National Park are non-smoking, most others in Wyoming and Montana allow
smoking. As of May 23, 2009 public spaces in Teton County, including restaurants and bars, will be nonsmoking, including within 20 feet of ventilation systems and public entrances.
Here are details about some of them the closest to where the De Anza College Outdoor Club stays on it's trips to the park, starting with Grand Teton Lodge Company restaurants.
As of 2008 soy milk is available with the hot cereal at all of the GTLC restaurants. They have a variety of sustainable and organic, free range, hormone free meats and sustainable fish/seafood through the guidance of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch. They offer organic, pesticide free produce, some locally grown. Their coffee is Rainforest Alliance Certified. They use recycled content paper goods and takeout containers.

 The Jackson Lake Lodge Mural Room has high floor to ceiling windows with an unobstructed view out over Jackson Lake. Sunsets are great, as are lightning storms.(2009) Dinner: entrees $18 - $38, beef tenderloin, Buffalo prime rib, salmon/halibut, elk loin, trout, chichen, summer harvest vegetable tart. Appetizers ($9 to 12), pan-fried green hatch chile crab cakes; ostrich, baked brie; sweet potato, asiago and sage cavetelli. Soups, ($7 to $9), garlic bisque, sweet corn vichyssoise, soup of the day. Three salads ($7 - $9), including tomatoes/mozzarella, spinach/ mushroom and organic baby greens. You can't substitute a baked potato for the menu potatoes/risotto/polenta.
In fall, because it's the end of the season, some years they run out of the butter portions shaped like a moose. (But in the fall there are fewer crowds and lots more parking.) Reservations are advised even in the off-season.
Mural Room breakfast buffet 2009, $14.50, with the moose shaped waffles. It's not at all as extravagant as the one at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite, but it's also not $50.

Next door to the Mural Room, the Pioneer Grill 2008 has counter service and takeout from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (2009) Fountain ice cream specials. Dinners can include sandwiches, burgers, salads and entrees with soup or salad: steak, trout, meatloaf, fried chicken. Salads including a classic caesar with or without chicken. Lunch includes burgers, sourdough grilled cheddar and swiss, taco salad . Sides for lunch or dinner include garlic butter and parmesan cheese fries, roasted sweet pepper slaw.

Jackson Lake Lodge also offers, in season, dinner ($57, 2009) and breakfast ($36, 2009) cruises on the lake.
A short walk from the cabins where we usually stay, Colter Bay Ranch House (through 2008 we knew it as the Colter Bay Chuck Wagon Steak and Pasta House) (2009) dinner entrees with house salad and bread, include steak, trout, salmon, meat loaf, 2 chicken dishes, pork chops. $15.95 to $19.95 Buffet breakfast (2009) $12.50 and a la carte. Typical lunch and salad bar/desserts.

At Colter Bay there is a picnic area with tables, firepits and restrooms at lakeside just down the road from the Colter Bay cabins and campground, hang a right at the Visitor Center parking lot.

At Signal Mountain, Peaks restaurant (2008, 5:30 -10 p.m.) incorporates natural and organic foods into their menu. All their fish are listed in the green category on the Audubon fish scale or as a best choice by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program. (2007) Dinner appetizers range from $7 to $9 including mushroom caps and roasted garlic soup. Entrees are all served with soup or salad and include salmon, trout, filet mignon, organic polenta cakes, free range chicken marinated using a margarita recipe and served over organic black beans and rice, ribeye with horseradish mashed potatos, elk stew with roasted Mirepoix in a cabernet demi reduction. $17 to 35, split entrees incur a $5 charge.
Down a side road near the Moose visitor center, are Dornan's Pizza & Pasta, (Sept. 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.). Menus are at:
http://dornans.com/dining/ Club favorites have included various pizzas, the chicken gorgonzola, seafood alfredo, and chicken caesar salad. We can't all sit as a group on the rooftop because of the over 21 years old rule.

About a mile north of Colter Bay, (take a left down a side road off the highway to the marina at the lake), is Leek's pizza, sandwiches and calzones, all fresh, all of which our club trip members have liked. (2008, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
There are dozens of restaurants in the town of Jackson. They vary from burgers, Chinese, Mexican, sushi, pasta, Italian, steakhouse, fusion, tapas to four-stars with "an award-winning wine list". Most lean towards family or casual atmosphere.

Jackson Hole Grocer - 974 W. Broadway between Powderhorn and Scott - mostly 7 a.m. to 11 p.m, 307-733-0450 has a large selection of organic and conventional groceries, deli, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, fair trade coffees, homopathics, herbs, vitamins. Home Grown from local growers, dairies, bakeries. Juice, smoothie and expresso bar, custom sandwiches, bakery, salad/soup bar, some take home meals, including organic rotisserie chicken.
