English 97 - Shakespeare in Performance Welcome to De Anza College at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival! This is a unique class that focuses on a weekend field trip to experience some of the best live theatre available on the west coast. In order to prepare for our trip to Ashland, we will have four pre-trip class meetings in which we will get to know each other, read and discuss the plays we’ll be seeing together at the festival, and finalize paperwork necessary for the trip. Each pre-trip class session will begin at 6pm and go for about an hour. Classes will be held in room L36 on the De Anza campus. Paperback copies of the plays are available in the campus bookstore. Please try to read each play before the class meeting on that particular evening. We will use the majority of our time together to discuss the play’s themes and read aloud scenes and monologues. Such preparation will heighten our appreciation of the plays when we view them in Ashland.
