A former daily newspaper reporter, I have been teaching English Writing and Journalism part-time for over 10 years in the Bay Area, and previously in Detroit, MI. I have a master's degree in English from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont., Canada and a master's degree in Journalism from University of Western Ontario. My bachelor's degree in English is from University of Windsor (Ontario).
My interests include colonial and post-colonial literature, African-American history, media ethics and criticism, world music, Cuba, and art-house movies. I am a dual citizen (U.S./Canadian) and am conversant in Spanish and French.
