Spring 2012:
JOUR 61 - Newspaper Staff - Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 to 5:45 p.m., Room L-42.
Students in this class produce La Voz, the award winning student newspaper for the De Anza College community. Students take on the roles of reporting news and feature stories, making editorial decisions, writing opinions and columns, designing graphics and cartoons, taking photographs and laying out pages. Students also produce video news and multimedia stories and edit the newspaper's website.
JOUR 62 -- Newspaper Freelancing. Required on-campus orientation is Thursday April 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. in room L-26, or by appointment.
Students in this class gain practical experience contributing as a freelancer to the college newspaper or other media outlet as a reporter, copy editor, columnist, graphic artist, photojournalist, cartoonist, videographer or other freelance position.
