Journal Writing

Spring 2007
EDUC 066

Guidelines for Journal Entries
What is a good journal entry?

1. It is about your own impressions from anecdotal records of interactions between teachers, children, and other school personnel while being placed as an intern at a school site.

2. Good journal entries are sometimes about your own impressions and questions regarding what you read or discuss with your classmates. This should include experiences and personal connections made during this time.

3. A good journal entry is your own reflection on how you feel. Be sure to date your entries.

10 points
What happened during class today with children that you would like to reflect on in this writing? Describe as fully as possible an activity, an interaction, or an observation, etc. How did you feel about what happened? What did you learn about yourself? How can you use the information to improve or alter your performance? What experiences will be most helpful to you as you move towards becoming an elementary school teacher?
This entry is one full double spaced typed page.

The journal writings must be in your own words with correct spelling, and grammar.
