Introduction to Elementary Education in a Diverse Society

The principles and practices of elementary school education will be addressed. This program is designed to help students complete undergraduate courses and assist them in transferring into a four-year institution to pursue a teaching career. Students will spend four hours weekly in an elementary classroom assiting a mentor teacher.

Guest speakers will enhance the learning process and provide students with information about transfering units, taking the CBEST, and the CSET .

Sandi Carson from De Anza College Transfer Center speaks to the students about the required units needed to transfer to a university.

Jan Grodeon, credential advisor from San Jose State University will address the requirements for entering the credential program.
